Invitation to Tender: Facilitation Services for Football for Unity 2.0, Switch the Pitch

Common Goal is pleased to invite you to submit a tender for the provision of Facilitation Services for the EU-funded (DG HOME) project “Football for Unity 2.0”. We believe your expertise will greatly contribute to the success of this meaningful and impactful project.

About Common Goal

With more than three billion fans, football is the largest social phenomenon on the planet. No other sport has such reach, wealth and cultural significance. At Common Goal, we envision a world where football creates a more inclusive and equal society. Our mission is to mobilize the global football ecosystem to create access to more safe spaces for young people to play, learn, and thrive.

We engage with some of the biggest stakeholders and change makers in football (including top athletes, brands, clubs, confederations - from Megan Rapinoe, Naomi Girma, MLS franchises, to Jürgen Klopp and adidas to UEFA) to strengthen a network of over 200 community organizations across 100+ countries, via access to funding and specific thematic programs.

Bottom-up and inside-out, we place all our focus on strengthening local capacity to transform realities, embedding purpose at the heart of the football industry and using football as enabler to inspire a shift in mind-set.

Come help us take it to the next level!

Football for Unity 2.0 – Switch the Pitch

Football for Unity 2.0, led by the UEFA Foundation for Children and Common Goal, aims to drive pan-European collaboration, capacity building, and peer learning to promote social inclusion through sport. This project seeks to transform the way sports organizations engage with young refugees, migrants, and vulnerable youth, using football as a tool for social integration and empowerment. Following the successful creation of the "Switch the Pitch" curriculum, which addresses racism and promotes inclusion in football, we are now seeking a facilitator to deliver this content to our project partners.

Scope of Work

As the editor and facilitator, you will co-create and deliver the "Switch the Pitch" curriculum to coaches, educators, and youth workers across Europe. Your role will focus on reviewing, finalising and delivering the content effectively, in partnership with our 6 project partners, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring the curriculum is well-understood and practically applied. The project will likely involve international travel to partner countries for delivery of the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

Submission Requirements

Interested facilitators must submit the following documents and information by December 6th 2024:

  1. Detailed profile, highlighting your experience in content creation, editing and facilitation, especially within sports or educational contexts, and your expertise in delivering training on diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
  1. Examples of previous facilitation work that demonstrate your ability to deliver impactful training sessions, workshops, or educational programs, particularly those focused on social inclusion in sports.
  1. Proposal outlining your approach to facilitating the "Switch the Pitch" curriculum, including strategies for engaging participants, adapting content delivery for diverse audiences, and supporting practical application of the curriculum.
  1. References from past clients or organizations where you have successfully facilitated content delivery, demonstrating your effectiveness as a facilitator and the impact of your work.

Evaluation Criteria

We are seeking a consultant who possesses the following qualities and credentials:

  1. Proven experience in creating, reviewing and delivering training and facilitation, particularly on topics of integration, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism within the sports sector.
  1. A strong track record of engaging diverse groups, including coaches, educators, and community leaders, to foster positive change and promote social inclusion through sport.
  1. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to create an interactive and engaging learning environment that supports knowledge transfer and practical application.
  1. Passion for promoting social inclusion and equal opportunities in football, with a genuine commitment to impacting the lives of young refugees, migrants, and marginalized communities.
  1. Positive feedback and references from previous facilitation work, indicating successful delivery and participant satisfaction.

Contract Terms

Upon the evaluation of received tenders, the selected facilitator will enter a formal contract with Common Goal. The contract will outline the specific terms of engagement, including project duration, payment structure, deliverables, and any additional responsibilities. The consultant will be expected to adhere to the terms outlined in the contract and work collaboratively with Common Goal to achieve the project's goals and objectives. The expected workload is approximately 30 working days between December 2024 and August 2025 based on a mutually agreed workplan and timeline between Common Goal and the consultant.
